In April 1981, I first met Martha whilst she was doing my makeup in Carousel at the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford and we were both very much aware from that meeting that we had so much in common and seemed set to establish a friendship together. We both realised soon after that encounter that something was really special, and we continued to grow our friendship over the next two years until we recognised that "Soul Mates" only come once in a lifetime. It was a very difficult time, going through all the "shall we or can we" thoughts, whilst still thinking hard about the effect on the Children, and how it would affect their lives. Our Love for each other eventually persevered, and after all the indecision, we finally got together with Laura & Alan in March 1984, at which point I promised to look after them and Martha for the rest of my life. We were married on 18th May 1985 and shared such happy times together, looking after the children and helping them develop, whilst still enjoying our main hobby in the Amateur Operatic Society. Martha has made me promise to look after her children, and our wonderful grandchildren, and I will fulfill the promise I made all those years ago to the best of my ability for her sake for the rest of my life. I am so sad that my promise to Martha to look after her too has not been fulfilled, but I know that she is in good hands!
